What visitors say
Beautiful pub in a stunning location. The staff are all very pleasant and friendly, and it’s incredibly dog-friendly too, they even have a dog menu! I’d 100% recommend a visit if you’re in the area. If you’re not local, they also have a lovely campsite attached where you can book a stay. A great place to relax, with excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings.

The Shrewsbury arms is a fantastic pub .. Family friendly, brilliant staff .. Always welcoming . Food is fantastic... The grounds are fantastic, and you need to respect the alpacas, geese etc especially if you have dogs it is their home after all.. Brilliant place to have as a base camp for Oulton park and other surrounding areas ... Will NOT have a word said against this pub !!! XxxxxX

Great pub. Went in with my wife for a drink and something to eat recently. Great choice of beer and the food was lovely. The staff are very welcoming as too are the locals - I would definitely recommend 👍🍻

We called into the pub on speck as we were staying at the caravan site nearby. The interior is warm and cosy and we were immediately made to feel welcome by the friendly host and his staff. A chalkboard sign in the bar boasted a new and improved steak pie so we, of course, had to try it. We chose the blackpudding starter to share first and that was delicious. The pie itself lived up the the hype and then some. So rich and tasty. The gravy deserves a mention on its own...so meaty! We were a bit full but still managed to squeeze a dessert in to share. The chef had just taken fresh brownies out of the oven and although not actually on the menu, we went with that. It was scrumptious and the Cheshire Farm ice cream accompanying it was perfect. All in all a really lovely evening.
