We stayed here for the weekend and, whilst the location is beautiful, there were several things that really let the campsite down. The campsite is spread across 3 huge camping fields, yet there is only one dated toilet and shower block serving everyone. If you're on one of the furthest fields, it's around a five+ minute walk just to get to the toilets. For a campsite this busy, the facilities simply aren't adequate. There are only two sinks for washing pots, so you regularly end up queuing just to wash up. In the mornings, it was almost impossible to get to a sink to wash your hands after using the toilet because they were full of people brushing their teeth and washing their faces, with whole families using the sink area at the same time. The laundry facilities also looked like they hadn't been updated in years, & I mean YEARS! We were also disappointed to be told that generators weren't allowed. We used our modern low-noise inverter generator all day Friday and Saturday morning without any issues, then were suddenly told to switch it off. This wasn't mentioned when we booked, wasn't explained at check-in, and we weren't given any site rules or information sheet on arrival. If generators are prohibited, this should be made absolutely clear before guests arrive. The only alternative offered was £1 phone charging at reception. In 2026, that's simply not a practical solution. Most people need their phones with them, not left in reception, and many families also have tablets and power banks to keep charged. What made it even more frustrating was that our generator was quieter than some of the music, shouting and general campsite noise, yet the generator was the thing we were asked to turn off. One thing I also disagree with is the dog policy. The rules specifically mention Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and I don't think it's right to single out an entire breed. I've previously owned a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was one of the gentlest, most loving dogs imaginable. Ironically, during our stay, my French Bulldog, Was attacked by a Boston Terrier and ended up with a torn ear. That doesn't mean Boston Terriers are dangerous, just as it doesn't mean Staffordshire Bull Terriers are. Dogs should be judged on their behaviour and the responsibility of their owners, not purely on their breed. This campsite is clearly very popular, and with the number of people staying here, we'd expect to see more investment in the facilities. A second toilet and shower block, more washing-up sinks and better communication about important site rules would make a huge difference. The location is fantastic, but the facilities haven't kept pace with the popularity of the campsite. With some investment and clearer communication, this could be an excellent campsite. At the moment, it falls short of what we'd expect.

There have been a few negative comments but for us it was fine. The showers were great, the toilets and washing up area were both clean. Our plot was hard standing on Welsh slate with grass surrounding. The views were lovely and the location ideal for Rhos-on-Sea, Colywyn Bay, Llandudno etc. See elsewhere on Google for my review of an excellent fish and chip shop in Colwyn Bay.
