Bron Y Wendon Holiday Park - Gold Horizon

Photo: Bron-y-Wendon Holiday Park

The North Wales coast is on your doorstep at Gold Horizon, a static caravan within Bron Y Wendon Holiday Park near Abergele. The coastal path is walkable from the site, and the beach itself lies just a mile away. From here, the Victorian resort of Llandudno with its pier and seafront shops is a short drive, as is Conwy with its medieval castle, or Colwyn Bay where a water sports centre operates. Snowdonia National Park sits 23 miles inland for hill walking and mountain scenery. Buses serve the local towns from the park.

The caravan has three bedrooms—two with double beds and one with two singles—plus a sofa bed in the living area, sleeping up to six. Everything is on the ground floor. The open-plan kitchen has a gas cooker and full-size fridge, so you can prepare meals, and there is one bathroom with a walk-in shower. Electricity is included in your stay, as are bed linen and towels. Gas heating keeps the caravan warm. You get your own parking space and decking outside.

The holiday park is family-run and quiet, with reception staff on hand during your stay. No smoking is permitted inside. The site itself has earned a reputation for well-maintained facilities and sea views across many of the pitches.

We stayed at Bron-y-Wendon campsite for 3 nights midweek. Site overlooks the sea and facilities are very clean. We walked along the coast path to Old Colwyn but could have gone further to Colwyn Bay. Bus service (nbr 12) very regular and allowed our dog on board too. Campsite was quiet despite the noise from the A55 which can't be helped and we soon got used to it. All in all great location, clean toilets and showers, helpful staff made it a great few days staycation. Lovely to have a great view of the sea.

What a gem of a find, large pitches well separated, clean & tidy park, perfectly situated for the local bus service up and down the coastline. Staff were very helpful and friendly, showers DIDN’T have push button showers and were clean and spacious. 5 mins walk to the beach and coastal walk with a lively cafe placed strategically with lovely ladies serving. All pitches have sea views and the sunsets were amazing, all pitches fully serviced, absolute gem of a site and well worth a second visit for us.

We recently returned to Bron-Y-Wendon for a 2 night stay in our campervan. We went with our friends and were allocated pitches next to each other. We both had a lovely sea view but whatever pitch you are allocated, you will have a stunning sea view. The park was clearly busy, but it had a calm, peaceful, and relaxing atmosphere throughout our entire stay. The facilities here are fantastic, both toilet and shower blocks were spotless, and the on-site laundry room is convenient should you need to access this. If you are travelling with children, there is a playground to keep them entertained. There was a pizza van that attended the site on Saturday and an ice cream van too. The reception stocks a good range of everyday essentials, which saves you from making unnecessary trips. The park is very close to a local bus stop with regular services running along the coast, meaning you can explore the area easily. We paid £12.50 for 2 people and the ticket allowed as many trips as you needed on the day of purchase. It is also just a brief walk into the local village of Llandullas which has a local shop, a pub, a fish and chip shop, and a curry house right nearby. We highly recommend Bron-Y-Wendon and will definitely be returning again!

Stayed for one night on Wednesday and we had a lovely break. We were welcomed and showed to our pitch. The campsite is spotless and the pitch had everything we needed but the view - wow. To wake up with the sea view and to have a train go past was brilliant. Showers and toilet block was spotless. We will definitely visit again. Thank you.
