What a wonderful find! Service… especially from Carlton - what a gem he was …found a new local gin to try- brilliant recommendation! Nothing was too much trouble. We ordered our food which was delicious Perfectly balanced dishes and my cod loin was cooked to perfection, not easy on a very busy Saturday evening. The Tandoori salmon was well seasoned and the accompaniments well thought out. Good size portions which meant not rented by the deserts 😆 Happily go back as soon as, as so much choice on the menu

My first visit to Conwy since 1975. A first visit for Deric and Jorvic. This is a lovely pub / hotel with 5 real ales and a real cider. Kicked off the day with a pint of Conwy Gold. The pub is on split levels and also has a small sheltered courtyard for sunnier days. A Cask Marque pub. Good looking food menu. Toilets in basement.

We ordered two children’s meals and two burgers, and overall it was really disappointing. The kids’ meals were poor value at £8.50 — one was a tiny frozen-style pizza you could get from Aldi for under £1, and the spaghetti bolognese was completely bland. I wouldn’t serve food of that quality at home, let alone expect it in a restaurant. The burgers were no better — dripping in grease, with soggy buns that made them unpleasant to eat. I had to use a napkin to soak all the grease off the bun. The manager did offer 25% off the kids’ meals, which was appreciated, but it didn’t make up for the overall lack of quality. We chose this place based on great reviews and dine out often, but I’ve never felt the need to leave a bad review before. Sadly, this really missed the mark.

After the ferry from Dublin to Holyhead and the train to Conwy we stopped here for one night. We dropped our bags in room 32 and walked over to the Conwy castle before it closed at 4 pm. We had already made a dinner reservation for 5 pm in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is steps away from the train platform but still quite inside. The hotel is amazing, the renovation and maintenance are near perfect. The bed was comfortable and the shower excellent. The only expected draw back was no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. So I made multiple trips. We ordered king prawn cocktail, slow roasted braised beef and the spiced ginger cake. Everything was excellent. The next morning we had the complimentary breakfast which was again excellent. I would definitely come back. The place is full of historic charm, the staff is top notch, the rooms exceptionally comfortable, the food is plentiful and delicious. If I could I would live here. I highly recommend this experience if you are able.
