Carvynick Holiday Park

We booked a last minute pitch here at the start of February half term for myself, my partner and our dog in our converted van. We were greeted with such a warm welcome by the owners and the site was so beautiful, peaceful and had everything we needed. Our pitch was super spacious and felt so private. We were perfectly located for beach walks and visiting the coastal towns up and down the west of Cornwall. We will definitely be back in the summer for a night or two.

Our pitch on the first night was lovely, although woke up the next morning to the drain overflowing with sewage waste which was horrible and smelt awful. I phoned reception and after a few calls they moved us to a new pitch and offered us a free night. The shower blocks were clean and showers were nice and hot, although they were push button ones. Neither the Male or Female hand dryers work in the toilets for the whole time we were there. The second pitch we stayed on was lovely with a great view. Local people and staff around the campsite were very friendly and chatty.

Great location as just off the A30, but hardly any noise from it. Beautiful views but everything just felt a little odd… despite everything being very clean which is really all you can ask for when pitching up your tent, the facilities were limited. 7showers and 3 washing up sinks for the whole campsite. Felt a little like camping was a second thought. Also, though there is a lovely pub on site, it is currently only open Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun, so recommend booking in advance!

5 STAR SITE! My partner and I stayed at this site during our visit for boardmasters festival, we were blown away by the kindness and how helpful the staff were. Unfortunately our van broke down during our stay (7 hours away from home) and the staff really went above and beyond to help with buses, taxis, mechanic recommendations and even storing our stuff for a few days whilst our van was being fixed! The facilities are some of the best we have experienced, the campsite is spotless, the showers have hot water and are very spacious and clean! There is a fridge/freezer, charging plugs and even a mirror to dry your hair, they really have thought of every detail. There are two large fields which are very spacious! Despite staying during the festival, the campsite was very peaceful and offered plenty of room to camp with some privacy. There is a shop a short drive/walk away that also has a bus stop into Newquay. We really cannot recommend this campsite enough based on how helpful the staff are and how great the facilities were!
