Welbeck Manor and Golf

Absolutely lovely place! I'll definitely be coming back again. The bar staff were fantastic-friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. The outdoor seating area offers beautiful views, making it the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a drink. The food was delicious, and everything was well presented. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat and relax.

My Wife and I with our 4 legged friend arrived at the Hotel on Wednesday the 17th of June to enjoy a 4 night stay. We had booked three nights through a 3rd part booking agency - Thursday/Friday/Saturday and prior to arriving we decided to stop on the Wednesday night - we were quoted £175.00 for the Wednesday night, a little steep we thought but from the photographs and good reviews we decided to bite the bullet. (Please see Photographs of our £175.00 room). We felt royally ripped off!! As you can see the room and bathroom facilities were extremely basic, hanging space had three plastic coat hangers and the clothes storage area was non existent. The view from the windows were etched out due to the laundry and back office facilities being located close to our room. The entrance to the rear of the Hotel was shabby and you faced the rubbish bins and waste as you walked towards the entrance. The staff were stretched, thin on the ground but very helpful and friendly. The meals were great - thank you Chef & his team. Thanks to Fin, Mac and all the staff who made our brief visit bearable, we decided to leave after the 2nd night. We were gratefully offered a £85.00 discount on the room. We have never walked away from a Hotel so disappointed, deflated and frankly ripped off. The web site photographs really are not showing a true reflection of the supposed grandeur of this rather tired building.

The hotel is very nice. It is in a quiet secluded location. The staff are fantastic and very helpful and the food in the restaurant is amazing (we had the pork belly for dinner and full English for breakfast). The only issue we had was that the floor in the Lincoln Suite vibrated, Im guessing from the kitchen equipment below. It felt quite strange. Other than that the room was big with plenty of windows with a view over the golf course and a large bathroom and shower. If you haven't visited before, check what route you are travelling the route we took was a very narrow country lane with tight passing places. Overall a nice hotel and grounds.

Great welcome from the staff, Tom and Emily. Emily booked our taxi return to Plymouth, thank you. The food was very good; we dined in twice. Particularly like the prawns and scallops. Breakfast, however, really needed a buffet for the fruit and cereal; we waited far too long. The ambience of the bar area was at times very noisy, even with only a few people in it. We were in room 3 which was very nice, great bathroom with fabulous walk in shower, masses of hot water. We had a great view of the golf course and moors beyond. Wardrobe was difficult but doable. Altogether an enjoyable stay, thanks to the staff who were all friendly. The zoo is only five minutes up the road. Apparently, the lion could be heard on our first morning, but we had the windows shut!
