Incredible service, attentive staff (thank you Hannah, Emily, Neil, Ross, and everyone working there) who go far beyond even the already high expectations you might have. Utterly fairytale gardens, flawless rooms, and the dinner was so incredible we want to go back to have it a second evening - everything really is about as good as it gets. Believe the ratings - this is peak real Cotswolds in our opinion (so peaceful and beautiful and safe - this is what we Londoners get away for!) and we are spoiled for anything else now in the region. Accommodated our dog flawlessly too, and pricing isn't unreasonable at all for what you get - which is an experience you'll most definitely treasure for a lifetime.

Visited lords of the manor at upper slaughter for Sunday lunch at the end of June 26. An idyllic Cotswold country Manor setting its own beautiful gardens. We came for a three-course Sunday lunch, and got an exceptionally well prepared and well presented Sunday lunch. 3 courses for around £40 set price. The starter was nice, the beef main course was some of the best beef that I have had in a long time presented with well cooked vegetables and roast potatoes and fantastic Yorkshire pudding. The creme brulee dessert was delicious. Add to this one of the best and finest stocked wine cellars. Add it all together it's a recipe for a fantastic 'fine dining' Sunday lunch.

A luxury hotel that truly delivers on top quality service from start to finish, with an extra special mention to the quality of the food. We dined in the main dining room for a 3-course meal and then the next evening in the Atrium, for the 10-course tasting menu and the food was exceptional. I must also add though breakfast did not disappoint either. We have nothing but positives to say about our stay and the staff know how to deliver top notch service. Long may it continue, highly recommended.

We chose this hotel specifically for a birthday weekend with our dog, based on their dog-friendly marketing. The first 24 hours were lovely, staff proactively offered our dog a chair at dinner and a sausage at breakfast. No complaints there. On day two, we were informed, mid-birthday celebration, that dogs are not allowed on furniture in common areas. A rule nobody mentioned at booking, check-in, or at any point during the previous 24 hours despite multiple staff interactions. When I pointed out that their own Instagram and guest photos showed dogs on the furniture, the response was vague at best. The Deputy GM’s (Hanna Sroka) email was polite. The in-person conversation was not. When I suggested they communicate this policy to future guests at booking, she told me that when I have my own hotel, I can run it however I like, and added that she considers herself very good at her job. The hotel is beautiful. The rest of the staff were warm and genuinely dog-loving. But unclear policies communicated poorly, and management unwilling to hear constructive feedback, is not what you want when you’ve driven to the Cotswolds to celebrate your dog’s birthday.
