The Grove in Cromer pairs a restaurant known for hearty breakfasts and afternoon teas with an indoor pool and gardens near the coast.
About The Grove
Breakfast, afternoon tea and a varied dinner menu form a strong part of what The Grove in Cromer is known for, served in its on-site restaurant to guests staying across its 15 rooms. The kitchen's efforts are matched by attentive staff, and the overall pace of the place is calm rather than rushed.
Rooms come with the practical extras you'd expect from a property of this size, and the grounds add a further draw, with tranquil gardens that lead easily onto the coastal paths nearby. That said, upkeep in some rooms has been inconsistent, so it's worth bearing in mind alongside the strengths elsewhere. Facilities extend to an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa and sauna, along with a lift, air conditioning, free WiFi and free on-site parking, plus porter and concierge services for those wanting a bit more assistance.
The Grove also functions as a wedding venue, and its position in Cromer means Cromer Pier and the beach are within easy reach, alongside the wider Norfolk coastline for walking. It's a straightforward base for exploring the area, with the food and pool likely to be the highlights of a stay.

What guests say
This is our second visit to The Grove. The setting of the hotel is beautiful, lots of green space and woodland. A lovely woodland walk to the beach and town which is about 15 minutes. We had a garden room which was clean and spacious. The breakfasts were good. We ate at the Sundown which has a brilliant, lively atmosphere and the tapas was excellent. The customer service is excellent in all locations of the hotel. Would thoroughly recommend.

My wife and I had afternoon tea at The Grove today. Quality was excellent. Selection of finger sandwiches was good, the sausage rolls were really tasty and the cheese pastry was good . The scones with jam and clotted cream were excellent and the selection of cakes was thoroughly enjoyed. I had Earl Grey tea and it too was first class ( proper tea leaves - not a tea bag)7. The staff were most obliging and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We intend to repeat the experience in July !!

Had a lovely stay at the grove! Worth coming here even just for thr restaurant, the food was so well curated and fresh! And good variety in the menu for food and wines! The room was very confortable with a spacious bathroom.. breakfast was excellent as well and the grounds fun to explore! A short walk to town and away from the hustle and bustle.. perfect weekend getaway! Didn't try the pool, next time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Grove Hotel. Room 11 was lovely and clean and we enjoyed the additions of slippers and a robe. The public areas of the hotel were warm and so was the room. We appreciated the opportunity to book our swimming slots prior to arriving at the hotel and loved the fact that we had the pool to ourselves for 45 minutes. It was warm and clean. The breakfast choice and quality were excellent, using locally sourced produce, including high quality sausages and bacon. We would like to pass on our appreciation and thanks to the staff; all of whom we spoke to were polite, friendly and professional. It's lovely to know that the hotel is a family-run, independent hotel. The grounds and gardens are fantastic and it's great to see so much produce being grown to use in the restaurant menu. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and evening meal whilst staying at the hotel and both were of excellent quality and very flavoursome. Being able to walk through the grounds and wooded area to join the coastal path was an added bonus and meant the walk into Cromer was only about 10 minutes. We look forward to staying at The Grove again in the future.
