You step straight into an entrance hall at Church House Barn, a converted barn on a working farm just outside Wigton. The ground floor holds one bedroom—a double with its own en-suite shower room and patio doors to a shared courtyard—alongside the main bathroom. Upstairs, a second bedroom contains two single beds, while the first floor is given over entirely to living space: an open-plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room with views across toward the coast. The essentials are covered, from bed linen and towels to Wi-Fi and heating.
Both bedrooms are plainly furnished and calm. The double has the advantage of the en-suite and direct access outside; the twin is smaller and simpler. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking proper meals, with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and all the basics. The sitting area has a Smart TV, DVDs and games. Out the back there's a patio with garden furniture and a barbecue, plus secure bike storage and parking for two cars. The property does not allow smoking.
Church House Barn suits people wanting a rural base—close enough to the Lake District National Park and Solway shores to visit either, but far enough out to feel properly away. The nearby medieval church of St John the Evangelist is the village landmark. Note that the back garden includes a covered well and a step; a neighbouring property has an unfenced pond.

Church House Barn is will always be our place of quiet and relaxation, the barn offers everything that you need for a stay in Cumbria. The location of the house is of easy access to the north lakes. Michelle & Richard are amazing welcoming hosts who are always on hand should you need them! This was our fourth stay and we are already planning stay number five.

The most well equipped holiday accommodation we’ve ever stayed in! The hosts really have thought of everything. The barn is beautiful, comfortable and in a fabulous location with easy access to the coast and countryside. We had a wonderful few days here and will certainly plan to visit again. Thank you Michelle and Richard for providing the relaxing getaway we needed.

Amazing location and accomodation! We have stayed here twice now and love it and so do our children! The barn is lovely and comfortable and has everything thing you need with great views! The host are very friendly and helpful if you need anything. There is a lovely walk around the village that has a pub and children's play park and you are so close to many attractions whatever you are looking for, city, coast and countryside! A great place all round, thank you church house barn.
