Great camping spot in the middle of a giant sheep farm, really remote when you're there, and signal can be a bit iffy, but personally, that's what I like aba camping anyway. They have showers and a fridge/ freezer that u can use and they even have free range eggs u can buy on site out on an honesty box from the chickens u see running round. And their fair share of farm animals walking round. It's also only 20 mins away from an Aldi and another retail park called Booths. And A&E is a 30 min drive (don't ask). They also have a little stream that runs through the property and the kids liked to play in it. It's dog friendly, u just have to keep your dog tethered but that was sound. It's not a massive campsite, but it's fairly priced and it is so scenic. Only downside was having to put fires out by 10.30, I get having to be quiet at that time, that's standard (kids an all that), but the fire, it got cold in the night so it was nice keeping warm round the fire while we chilled. Having to put it out forced us to go to bed. That's the only thing I didn't like.

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at Birchbank Farm! If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is the perfect spot. The setting is truly beautiful, and it was such a unique experience to stay on a working farm. It really made our trip special to see the farm in action! We were lucky enough to witness a calf being born and watch the sheep being shorn, which was a real highlight for us. The facilities were excellent, with generously sized pitch areas that gave us plenty of room. The bathroom facilities were also well-sized, and we never had to deal with any queues, which was a huge plus. A few tips for future visitors: 🥚 Make sure to bring some coins with you if you’d like to purchase some fresh eggs from the farm as you won't want to miss them! 🛒 Do be aware that there isn’t a proper shop nearby. There is a garage in the vicinity, but it is quite bare bones, so I’d highly recommend stocking up on your main groceries and essentials before you arrive.

This is a lovely place. Have stayed on the campsite for many years. Completely top notch. Good facilities that are very clean. Well maintained. This year (2026) tried the cottage. Lovely. No complaints at all. Nice touch with milk in the fridge and homemade flapjack too welcome us. Dog friendly, but you should have a well behaved dog!

Lovely campsite. Off the beaten track, but well worth it. Clean facilities, showers, toilets, and dishwashing facilities are all neat and well looked after. Loads of space for tents and caravans. A good mix of traditional camping spots and wilder camping spots. There was a lovely mix of families, young adults, and older adults all camping together comfortably. There is no noise after 10 pm, which is just perfect for me. It was so lovely to be surrounded by the sheep and horses of the farm. Don't worry, the campsite itself is gated, with no loose animals around the tents. Well priced, and well loved. Would highly recommend, and will return on future visits to the Lakes
