Small campsite near Carlisle in Cumbria with showers, close to the Lake District and Scottish Border hills.
About Bleatarn Farm Certificated Site
Bleatarn Farm Certificated Site is a small campground in rural Cumbria, north of Carlisle. The site has showers and takes a limited number of pitches, keeping things quiet and low-key. Being a certificated site, it operates under Camping and Caravanning Club rules, which means access may be restricted to members or subject to specific conditions—worth checking before you arrive.
The location is genuinely useful for exploring the north. The Lake District is within reasonable driving distance, and Carlisle itself is close enough for a proper town visit if you need supplies or a night out. More immediately, you're surrounded by the hills and moorland of the Pennines and Scottish Border country, with countless walks and drives on your doorstep. Hadrian's Wall also passes through this part of Cumbria and is worth seeking out if you have an interest in Roman history.

What visitors say
An excellent campsite on our Hadrians Wall walk. Very easily accessible from the wall (a 1 minute walk away from the path) and had excellent facilities (hairdryer, straighteners, charging points etc). Lovely owners, would stay here again!

Excellent stop when camping the wall. Smallish field for tents within a site, but nice to have tables around. As others note, best/nicest shower block on the wall! Nice also to have the small bit of cover for when we turned up - it was very bleak in the rain!! Honesty style snack shed also a nice touch. Owner was also very helpful to a previous guest while we were there!

Excellent small site with beautiful views. Andrew the farmer was warm, welcoming and accommodating considering we called at 8.30pm on a Friday evening after being turned away from a caravan site nearby which was adults only which we were unaware of. Andrew kindly said that there was room at the Inn!!! As I said the panoramic views are beautiful, the tourer pitches nice and flat with your own water tap. 2 showers and 2 toilets nice and clean (and warm). Definitely going to stay here again - 10 out of 10!
