What visitors say
We are currently in a lodge on Highgate holiday park having had 2 caravans before this in our 10 years on the site. The reason we love this park is because it delivers what it says and is tranquil and well cared for. We now have grandchildren who visit the site and their parents are happy to take them off site to play. There is a very good play park in the village and others round about. We do not have a garden area from choice as we are not interested in having one although we admire other people's' well kept garden areas. In our experience the rules are thoroughly explained before a van is purchased and all make sense in maintaining the safety and quality of the site and the respect for other people. Sue Irving

Owners smile sweetly until they make their sale and once they’ve got you they become rude, distant and uninterested. You even have to maintain your own “garden”. They say they are happy to have kids on the park and then they start throwing out their rule book; I believe there are about 23 so far and the list gets longer each year! Luxury park - NOT! No public facilities, not even a washing machine on sight. Most certainly would NOT recommend this park.

Having spent four blissfully happy years with Dave, Liz and Charlotte at Highgate, I feel the need to respond to the poor review which was recently posted. Everyone at the campsite is issued with an easy to understand comprehensive set of rules applying to safety and the respectful conduct towards others on the park. These rules are updated yearly if necessary and also fully explained before a purchase is completed of either caravan or lodge. We along with many other people on the park are so happy with the competent running of Highgate that we have upgraded from a caravan to a lodge endorsing our satisfaction with both campsite and owners. We have always found the owners reasonable and approachable. Highgate is a peaceful and relaxing environment nestling in the heart of the Eden valley offering stunning views, abundant wildlife and a tranquil atmosphere. If the above is what you seek, there is no finer place.

A quiet and a well kept tidy place far away form the madding crowd. With views of the pennines and a place where you can visit Penrith or the lakes .Plenty of walks in the area. The site has WI-FI,Wired for sky box's and free view ..so no need for dishes or aerials and also has gas so no need for them ugly cylinders. Concrete foundations is provided and caravans are chained in to it making a solid site not like others I've seen.It has no clubhouse which makes for a peaceful place to relax..
