We arrived at the Hylton park in our van but the office was empty so rang the main site at Stanwix. We were told we had to check in there, but the receptionist admitted this was not in any of the booking information and apologised so if you are going to Hylton, go to Stanwix to check in. The booking at Hylton gives access to all the facilities at Stanwix so with a pool and bars etc, this makes it good value. We then returned to the pitch but it was on a slope so rang Stanwix and they quickly changed it for us. The site is so close to Silloth so if you need shopping, there is a Co-op and there are cafes and chippies. At the sea front you will find an arcade and a great play park with a water feature for the little ones. On the park, the toilet block is immaculate and has baths as well as showers and there is a laundry but no fridge or freezer, which we usually find on campsites these days. The site was quiet at night and good for kids to ride their bikes. Likes Baths in cubicles Clean and warm toilet block Well equipped laundry Spacious pitches Friendly staff and people Proximity to Silloth Peace and quiet Dislikes Had to check in at Stanwix and this was not on any information so had to ring on arrival as Hylton office empty Overflowing and pungent smelling bin outside toilet block Lack of seats in disabled facilities Lack of freezer Random numbers on toilet codes - need to change to something a little more memorable Lack of real ale

Well kept , quiet site with water, waste and toilet disposal all on the electricity hook up posts. Very handy. Great toilet block with baths and showers. Laundry room too. About 15 minutes walk to Stanwix along the public footpath and 10 minutes to Silloth sea front. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced considering you get access to the swimming pools etc on the main complex. Bedn twice now and really enjoyed it.

We stayed here Easter weekend and the park was full. The checkin was up at the other Stanwix park which was a 25 to 30 min walk away. We could have driven up but with it being so busy we walked. There was no warden on the site which enabled people to do as they pleased. The toilets were clean and well looked after and everything was central. 5 min walk to shops, and the Green and promonade. The beach was about 15 to 20 mins. The town is lovely and quiet. There was lots of people playing loud music on the park and no wardens on hand to stop this - it is also overlooked by houses too. I rated 4 stars for location to town and good facilities but need to know what you are booking
