Fantastic place for a relaxing stay fishing right on your doorstep. Carp pike perch roach bream there's even a lake with big catfish in. Tony the bailiff is a lovely guy very helpful nothing was to much for him. There's a tackle shop on site with plenty of gear and bait.

Just arrived home after a seven day stay at Lonsdale fishery. On arrival we were met by Tony and his wife who gave us a full well educated brief on tips pegs and baits to use. There were seven of us in total all ex Royal Navy. We hired 3 cottages which were all immaculately clean and very comfortable. Tony was always on hand to open the on site shop for bait and an excellent selection of tackle. There were seven of us in total and we caught Caro to 23lb also Pike to 14lb. It is not a runs water but a fantastic specimen lake. At times hard going and the main catches came mostly at night however the day did bring a few. In all we had a superb week and will definitely be coming back. A special thank you to Tony and Pete for their hard work trying to trawl the lake for my Rod and reel which was pulled in by a strong Carp during the night through my own fault.
