Small campground near Kendal with showers, on a working farm with around 20 pitches.

About Pound Farm Park

Pound Farm Park is a modest campground on a working farm just outside Kendal in the Lake District. With around 20 pitches, it operates on a small enough scale that you won't find yourself among hundreds of other campers, though the exact atmosphere will depend on the season and how full the site gets on any given week.

The site has showers as a basic facility. Beyond that, the facts are thin - what you're getting is a straightforward farm campground rather than a destination site with extensive amenities. It suits campers who prioritise a quiet, low-pressure base for exploring the surrounding fells and market towns, and who don't need much more than the essentials.

Pound farm is a gem of a campsite. Easy to find but quiet and peaceful. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the amenities are so clean and well kept. Tent pitching was ideal and great fun.

Pro's nice view & Quiet location appart from main road. Con's. We were vetted and interviewed on arrival to see if we were worthy enough to stay. NO INTERNET no reception. High pressure plumbing screamed like a ships fog horn through the building when you flush the toilet, we were annoying the neighbours, when we went to the lavatory. It was advertised as self-check in but we had to sit in the office for 30 minuets like naughty school boys by a deaf myopic octogenerian geriatric Would not advice for the cost? Cheap everything [ oven wouldn't cook.] Squeaky floorboards. Shower was terrible.

We booked this property as a last minute break. What a great find! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The lovely converted property was spotless and cosy with everything that we needed. It was easy to drive to Bowness, Kendal and the M6 making the rest of the Lake District easily accessible. We'll definitely be returning!
