We had a really nice weekend at the camping barn. Four of us went. Ideal if you love camping and it's too cold yet for tents. Beautiful barn and isolated location. Lovely woman that runs it. So close to outstanding walking routes and peaceful. Love that it has no electricity and no hot running water. It's nice to get back to absolute basics. Couple of things to mention, you need your camping stoves and sleeping equipment but the kitchen is actually pretty well stocked with pots, plates, pans and cutlery. There's also plenty of seating. Bring fire fuel and tea candles. It's great that there is cold water available and indoor plumbing. Perhaps the only thing I would add (if it was my barn) would be a small bath maybe where you could get an 'army wash' indoors with a pan or two of water off the stove in the winter months. I think this would make staying there for longer than a couple of nights a bit more appealing in absence of shower facilities.

OK if 12 people are paying the 150 quid nightly charge Expensive if two Mums and three kids under 8 want it. That said its a good experience to learn new skill when no electricity Wifi or TV is available. Memorable times to be had .

We undertook our Scout this barn, it was clean, remote, quiet, fun, very impressed but you need your own lights. The log burner was just epic and warms the whole place. We will be back.

Great budget camping barn for groups. Really enjoyed a stay here. Lots to do nearby including walking in Dovedale and Mam Tor.
