Absolutely horrendous campsite. Arrived to be told the lakes had been booked for a private function and we could not access them. Our first night there was constantly kids screaming up to 10:30pm/11pm at night and people playing loud music who were so drunk and smoking cannabis next to our tent. I went to reception the next morning to ask if anyone was onsite overnight and found the person I spoke to rude. Was told they would monitor this. We then had even worse to the point our baby could not sleep at all, our next door neighbours were again so drunk and smoking cannabis, peeing being our tents which absolutely stank and the person I spoke to was of course no where to be found. We packed up and left as it was absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend staying here and will definitely be requesting a refund (and expecting one too).

The lakes area hidden gem the fishing is so serene and quiet and well stocked of fish if you can catch them. Beautiful place i highly recommend it and the reception staff are always happy and polite.

I needed to charge the leisure battery and normally wouldn't stay at this type of site. It's not pick your own pitch and there are too many site rules for me (maybe some people need this though) There are lovely woodland walks and some villages in walking distance. At £35 for electric hook up, I thought that was expensive for me, a small van and a dog and they want 50p for a shower BUT it's great for kids/ families as there's a play area and it's well set out.

Stayed for Bloodstock Festival as I'm too old to camp on Festival grounds without a few base luxuries like flushing toilets and a shower! Great location only 9 minutes drive from the festival site at Catton Hall. Ground is flat so good for tent pitches. Electric hook up well located. Site staff are very friendly. I liked the gates on entry so only those who should be on site are there. Facilities were generally clean and decent - I had an issue with a shower not working one night when we got back from the festival late but I mentioned to staff and they gave me my 50p back next day and apologised so fine by me! Wasps are a local hazard at the moment and that did ruin the ability to actually sit outside the tent at all for breakfast but site staff can't really do much about wasps. Downside for us was that pitches were not marked out so we were playing guesswork a little with whether we were properly pitched. Plus we had to pitch sideways to ensure cars could get passed our tent - dimensions were given but if we had pitched forward as normal, there is no way cars would get through to further pitches as it was a little tight. Not a major issue though and we do have a Vango airbeam tent so it is a little on the bigger side! We will return next year for the festival, for sure. I wish we could pitch the tent in the adult area as being woken by screaming kids after not getting back until gone 1am wasn't fun, but it seems like the paddock is no tents which is a shame! Might look into the camping pods for next year!
