Campground near Ashbourne in Derbyshire with pitches, heated pool and on-site brewery.
About Callow Top Holiday Park
Callow Top Holiday Park sits in the Derbyshire countryside between Ashbourne and Buxton, a landscape of rolling hills and stone villages. The site itself spreads across farmland with a mix of pitches, plus holiday cottages for those who prefer brickwork. Facilities include hot showers, and there's a heated outdoor pool for summer months. The on-site brewery, shop and pub mean you need not leave the grounds for a drink or meal.
Pitches vary in size and some can feel tight, but the site maintains them well and keeps facilities clean. There's a playground, a lake and a soccer field, which suits families with children. The Callow Inn is just a few minutes' walk away if you want to venture out, and Ashbourne town centre is nearby for shopping or a wider choice of pubs and restaurants.

What visitors say
I've been here with my young boys a few times and they love it. It's the one place they ask to come back time and time again. It's clean. The staff are friendly. There's a pool, games room and a pub on site. Plenty of walks you can take into Ashbourne or surrounding areas. Great spot to visit Matlock and other tourist attractions in the area. There's plenty of leaflets available in reception for ideas and multiple options for accomdation from camping to apartments.

Not enough Toilets or showers to the ratio of people at weekends. Our pitch felt like we were on the edge of a car park. Do not agree with inflatables in the pool. Could do with more taps for water and more dog poo bins. The Area is wonderful.

Had a few nights here. Arrived on a Wednesday. The staff were all very helpful & friendly. The pitches are big you don't feel on top of the neighbours! We had a fab sleep the first night. Everything about the site is great. We chose this site for the 10:30 please be considerate to fellow campers quiet time. This seems to be overlooked by most campers. Yes people are relaxing and having fun, but when it gets to 11:30 and we have had a full on day it's not very fair. Also does anyone have a late night / early morning volume control these days? I guess it's just a case of no consideration for others. On that note there was plenty of yapping/ barking dogs at all hours. We called the warden, who did arrive to speak to groups at 11:30, but after he left they just continued until the early hours. This camp has everything going for it but It is spoilt by the selfishness of others.

Quite possibly the worst campsite we have ever stayed on. We managed one night before moving on. The showers are absolutely disgusting, more like individual cells with an exposed shower head hanging from the ceiling. The clientele of the site also leaves a lot to be desired. If your idea of a holiday is feeling like you're on the set of Shameless then this is the sight for you. AVOID. Only redeeming feature was that we were refunded for the nights we didn't stay.
