Great campsite, lovely spacious pitches, electric hook up, playgrounds for kids, goats they can feed a bit of grass. Firepit hire available. Excellent all round for families. It lacks mature trees for natural shading which was a slight drawback in May when we stayed with the record breaking climate change heat. Took a gazebo for which there was a small extra charge. Staff helpful, shop well stocked. Toilet and shower block lovely and clean. All at the bottom of the hill so may want to bear that in mind for accessibility. Site loses tiny bit of credit for lacking fridge, this is so helpful for fresh milk etc. I understand it’s an extra thing for them to manage so I do get it, but it’s a real help when sites have one. There is one small chest freezer available for ice blocks which in the 30 deg heat meant a lot of trips back and forth changing them out for a cool bag, slight aggro but we managed. Location great! Buxton and Bakewell both close by, Morrisons one way and Aldi another. Overall a great campsite and would definitely return!

What an amazing site. Spent three nights in our motor home. Hard standing, huge space, electric and water even TV arial socket. Elevated pitch with beautiful views. Close to the Monsal Trail. The showers and toilet block were spotless and very warm, fantastic shop, with lots of essentials and nicknacks. Unfortunately the cafe was closed due to holiday, but it looked great. The lovely lady in reception/shop is very friendly and helpful. This was our first visit and will definitely not be our last, even though it snowed and rained, we still enjoyed every minute of our visit. We had one dry sunny day and walked along the Monsal Trail to Bakewell.

I was bikepacking and said i would not get there while reception was open and they sent me everything i needed to no in an email {site map wifi password} and asked if i would be ok just to find a place to pitch myself. By the time i got there and pitched and made myself something to eat it was quite late so it was a quick shower and bed. the shower block and wash room were spotless the showers were warm and plenty of toilets i will definitely use this site again if i am out that way.

By far the best site I've stayed on yet. All facilities are well kept and spotless. Well stocked shop with all basic food. Great cafe . Just can't fault this place at all .
