Small, well-maintained campsite in Derbyshire with showers, walking access and a pub next door.

About Hulme End Campsite

Hulme End Campsite is a modest site in the Peak District village of Hulme End, between Buxton and Leek. It is a straightforward operation: clean pitches with drinking water and grey water disposal, showers, and toilets. The site is small enough to feel quiet and manageable, yet close enough to The Manifold Inn (just over the road) to make an evening visit easy. Dogs are welcome, and fire pits are allowed.

The location works well for walkers. The Manifold Trail Visitor Centre is a short walk away, and the valley itself is crossed by multiple footpaths. The Tea Junction, a café, sits nearby too. The site offers genuine value for money and the essentials without fuss—the kind of place suited to those who want a clean base and easy access to the outdoors, rather than entertainment or extensive facilities.

Been coming to Hulme end Campsite for 3 years, the last 3/4 times I’ve been there’s been rowdy families partying & drinking till all hours of the morning, playing very loud music(why do people think everyone wants to hear their pumping music at 2/3am is beyond me, disrespectful) & allowing their children to do whatever they please (I don’t mean kids just been kids) quite feral. I thought it was a one off at 1st & let it go, too many times now, although it’s not the owners fault there’s disrespectful people using the site, it’s unsupervised & no rules in place. Some simple rules would make Hulme end great again. No loud music after midnight & being respectful of noise volume after midnight. Most campsites I go to have rules which work. Theres a close by campsite (10mins away) that do have rules which I will be using instead & cost £1 extra per night with hot showers & hot water for washing up. On the plus side, it’s kept clean Great location cheap Fire pits allowed Good walks Nice pub around the corner No booking required

I would avoid this campsite. There are no rules enforced here. No management. Large groups of friends meet up here and after returning from the pub and continue drinking all night until 4am. Want some sleep? Forgot it. The volume and language would shock you. Don't bring children here. The cheap-ish campsite entrance fee attracts the undesirables
