This is such a lovely site right in the heart of the Peak District and close to Belper and Ripley. Bus routes are easy to access for Belper or Derby. The pitches are all quite level and with good services, toilet waste, grey water waste, recycling facilities. It was so relaxing just watching the horses and sheep. I would without doubt recommend this site to anyone in the club. You have to use your own facilities as there are no toilets or showers. Ruth the owner and her daughter are so kind. Well recommended we’ll definitely stop there again.

We had a pleasant stay at Upper Hartshay Farm. The site offers nice views, plenty of walking options, and good facilities, including fresh water, grey/chemical waste disposal, EHU and recycling, level hardstanding pitches and a secure gate code. There was the large amount of sheep droppings from recent grazing. This made setting up our table and chairs rather unpleasant, as we had to clear a space. The droppings also proved very tempting for our dogs. Some road noise from A38.

We traveled from Texas to stay in Bear Cottage. Very nicely decorated, all mod cons. Ruth & Ian are super nice and helpful. Beautiful views across open countryside and very conveniently situated for access to Derby and surrounding areas. We used our time here to visit family & friends but the cottage is also ideally situated for walks too. If you’re looking for a spotlessly clean, luxurious place to stay, this is the place for you. Don’t miss the very short drive to The Black Boy Pub, Heage. Fantastic service and food! My husband still talks about the chips he had! We will be back to both places next year!

Lovely clean site, with fantastic views, peaceful and quiet area . Lots of local walks available, a few local pubs in the area and not far away from Matlock, Chatsworth and many more places for a day out. Highly recommend this site.
