What visitors say
We've just returned from a lovely week at Challaborough Bay. We had a three bedroom bronze caravan which we just used as a sleeping base as we were all inclusive. The caravan was a little tired but clean and comfortable. We had a small issue with the TV but this was sorted within 10 minutes of reporting. We would upgrade next time for more space as the bedrooms were a little cramped. The food in the Waterfront Restaurant was lovely. There was a good variety of options for adults and the service was fantastic. The staff in the restaurant were incredibly kind and helpful. As we were in there for every meal, it made such a difference to our stay. However, I would say that the all inclusive options for children could be healthier. The surroundings are beautiful. The bay the holiday park is in is lovely, and the beach at Burgh Island is stunning when the tide is out. The hills above the site are also worth walking for stunning views of the Devon coastline. The surroundings road network is something to be aware of; they are tiny one track roads for quite some way but they were pretty quiet whenever we used them. We travelled out of the park to visit Plymouth one day and only met one car before hitting the bigger A roads. We look forward to returning one day!

We had a wonderful stay on Circular Road and really enjoyed our holiday. Our caravan was lovely—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing break. We did have a bit of a wait for our food during one of our meals, but Larris and Maisie kept us updated throughout, so it really wasn't a problem. They were both friendly, attentive, and made sure we knew what was happening, which we really appreciated. Their excellent customer service turned what could have been an inconvenience into a positive experience. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this holiday park.

Challaborough Bay is an almost perfect site. Right on the beach, down a narrow road, well away from all the main tourist sites. However, the caravans are tired and many need not just repairing but replacing, and that's where the problem lies. Getting replacements in is almost impossible. The bar is well run with good food. The amusement arcade has been updated and the pool is nice but there are too few 'open' swims and restricted opening hours. We were there for a week and not once were we able to use it due to going out for the day. To give Parkdean their due, the staff were excellent and customer service, post our trip, was excellent. A partial refund was given for outstanding repairs. Beautiful place though. I would go again.

I have just returned from this park from a weekend stay, unfortunately it is not up to the usual high standards that i have experienced in numerous other Parkdean Sites. Caravan was good. Site location good if you dont mind rural. Our experience was let down by poor communication & attitude from the Reception Staff/OGEM when dealing with a power supply issues to the unit we were staying in for nearly 4 hours. Disinterested, dismissive & disorganised. Customer Service Training needed. Laura sat staring at phone as we entered Reception to check-in, instead of welcoming guests. Poor first impression. We then received a change of tune a few hours later regarding the power issue & restaurant vouchers for the poor service which was sadly a waste of time - the food in both an evening & the Monday morning fell short of what is seen in most Parkdean sites. Slow Service, poor quality. Cold food. Eggs on toast was served as slop next to cold toast, with anaemic cold sausage thrown on next to it. Concerning as Restaurant was not busy or overworked. The caravan & situation itself couldn’t be faulted once the electrical problems were resolved. The park in general, however, seems dated & tired and could do with some love. Plenty other better Parkdean sites to explore if staying in the South West.
