About Dan's Wild Camping
Tucked into the wilds of Dartmoor National Park, Dan's Wild Camping offers proper back-to-basics pitching on spacious grass – think campfires, stargazing and nothing but a compost loo and cold-water tap for company. It's genuinely wild camping, so leave your hairdryer at home, but if you're after space, peace and the freedom to light a fire under open skies, this is heaven. Dogs are welcome (on leads), and there's room for ball games and parking right by your pitch.
Ancient woodland at Hembury and Holne Woods lies a 20-minute walk away, while Dartmoor's climbing, wild swimming and mountain-biking trails sprawl in every direction. The A38 is five minutes' drive if you need supplies or fancy fish and chips in Buckfastleigh, and Devon's surf beaches are around 35 minutes by car. Several local pubs – some walkable, others a short drive – serve proper cream teas and cold pints. It can feel a little rough around the edges for those used to glamping comforts, but that's exactly the point.

What visitors say
Excellent basic site, water is available at the farm gate, a composting toilet available if needed. The track is very very bumpy but I suppose it stops people speeding, make sure everything g is hunkered down when using. Stayed in a camper wasn't too busy about 25 others on the top field, the river camping was closed.

Overnight in L4H3, perfect. Roads a bit gravelly and bumpy but with due care will be fine. Views fab and great hikes from the site. Will return! Separate campsites for vans vs tents.
