About Higher Aunemouth Campsite
Higher Aunemouth is a small, family-owned campsite just outside Kingsbridge that keeps things pleasingly simple. The facilities are basic – showers, toilets, drinking water – but the rustic, back-to-basics atmosphere is exactly what many campers are after, especially those heading down to the superb beach at Bantham, just a short drive away. Campfires are allowed, which adds to the off-grid feel, and dogs are welcome too.
It's an unpretentious spot that works well as a base for exploring the South Hams, though you'll need to be comfortable with the no-frills approach – there's no WiFi or chemical disposal point. If you're after a straightforward, traditional camping experience in reach of some of Devon's best beaches, this ticks the box.

What visitors say
Best campsite in Devon. Lovely walk to the beach and super friendly hosts. The amenities are basic but the showers are really nice, pay per shower (£1 coins only if I remember correctly🤔) Will definitely be coming back again in no time!

Absolutely wow. A peaceful, no stress campsite. A refreshing change from the usual over-priced over-managed jobsworth campsite with all the rules and regulations. Enjoy a shady spot amongst the trees or a sunny pitch looking out onto the local rolling hills. The owners are lovely and friendly :)

Gorgeous spot just up from from Bantham, Sian and Alex went out of their way to help us have a great stay on the first opening week of the year despite the rain. Nice quiet pitch, had everything we needed and lovely bird watching in the morning. Recommend paying a visit to Outside just up the road if yours staying here.

Great campsite with a fantastic view of the estuary and Burgh Island (from View Field anyway). A bit of a killer walk back from the beach but started to get used to it towards the end of our stay! Facilities are basic but perfectly adequate and kept clean and stocked with loo roll and sanitiser.
