About Horizontal Leisure Club

Fifteen acres of ancient woodland on a working organic farm near Newton Abbot – Horizontal Leisure Club is wild camping with a wonderfully laid-back spirit. South Devon and Red Devon cattle graze the pastures (watch for spring calves), while Texel sheep lamb each March, all just ten miles from the beaches at Teignmouth and Dawlish Warren. Guests can spread out among the trees, enjoy guided farm walks through the woods, or book Land Rover tours of Dartmoor, archery and clay shooting sessions.

The entertainment barn, Pound House, offers sofas, tourist information and a bar – perfect for wet days or post-exploration unwinding. Facilities are deliberately simple (mains water, portable toilet, fire extinguishers), keeping the wild camping feel intact. Just over a mile away, the farm's own pub, the Palk Arms, serves real ales and food with sweeping views across the Teign valley. A genuinely peaceful escape, though those seeking modern amenities may find it a touch too rustic.

Quiet site, out of the way so not much traffic noise but still close to to towns and places to visit which makes this a good choice of base.

A great site, staff were very friendly and informative during the check in. The location is peaceful, with no road noise and the pitches are well laid out (the serviced ones having black waste point on the pitch too). Facilities were always warm and never busy - hot water was always available and were spotlessly clean. Access is narrow, but the road is less than a mile long and there are passing places - just take care. Would certainly recommend and would return if back in the area.

After rocking up from Ross Park giving our pitch to someone else that we booked. We were greeted by two lovely wardens Mike and Toni, who made us very welcome and at ease, The pitch we choose was very spacious. The toilet block was spotless and the grounds were very tidy (thanks to Lou, Paul and Les). The shop on site was very well stocked with all your essentials and more. Had a fabulous stay, would highly recommended. Keep up the great work - Keith and Nicky
