About Porte Meadow Campsite
Tucked into a quiet farm meadow on Exmoor's edge, Porte Meadow makes the most of its spectacular Devon countryside setting with dark skies perfect for stargazing and a designated dog park where four-legged friends can stretch their legs. Non-electric grass pitches suit tents and motorhomes, with a communal firepit adding to the back-to-basics appeal – though facilities can feel fairly basic overall, so come prepared.
The hotel just across the road (a five-minute walk) serves proper breakfasts, cream teas and dinners showcasing local produce, while Combe Martin, ten minutes by car, has convenience stores, pubs and restaurants for stocking up or eating out. Surfers will find beaches within 40 minutes' drive, and the Blackmore Gate pub – five minutes away – does wholesome food with cracking Exmoor views to match.
