About South Town Camping
South Town Camping sits just outside Loxhore in deepest Devon, a small, family-friendly site that keeps things refreshingly simple. You can pitch on one of ten non-electric grass spots or book the shepherd's hut if you fancy a roof overhead. Campfires are positively encouraged here—a real bonus for atmospheric evenings under the stars—and the essential facilities (showers, toilets, drinking water) are on hand without unnecessary frills.
It's worth noting there's no WiFi and pets aren't permitted, so plan accordingly. But if you're after a straightforward, peaceful base for touring the North Devon coast and countryside, this makes a solid, unshowy choice that delivers exactly what it promises.

What visitors say
Had a wonderful stay in the shepherds hut. This is a delightful bucolic place, deep in rural Devon and a great place to get away from it all. The couple who run it are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Firmly recommended!

Absolutely amazing place to camp, extremely peaceful and quiet. Dani was really lovely and on top of everything around the site. Would highly recommend visiting for some time away to get back to nature and away from screens. So many different birds to watch and listen to and the views are breathtaking.

South Town Farm truly feels like a special place. We came for rest and a reset, and found peace, birds singing, and incredible starry skies at night. Dani and Murray are such warm and genuine people – they make you feel at home the moment you arrive. I loved the little touches, like the mown paths that feel like a maze and the cosy campfires. It’s the kind of place where you can just walk barefoot on the grass, breathe deeply, and feel connected to nature. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to come back. We highly recommend South Town Farm and will definitely be returning. And a special thank you to Dani for sharing the sloe liqueur recipe!

Just returned from here and had an amazing stay. Two families camping and we were able to choose our plots next to each other. Super clean loos (compostable and non- smelly, sawdust provided!) and great, spacious shower area with lots of hooks, a chair and the warm water. So awesome to have a freezer for the ice blocks and a lovely walk through the orchard. Very peaceful campsite, glorious views, they mow out more areas than are booked so there is always a choice. Fab to have the games area mown out, we used this a lot. Plenty of drinking water pipes (all of the water pipes are drinking water) and we saw Dani a lot after she initially came to introduce herself, popping the firewood in the washing up area, updating tide times etc. Overall, we just had the best time just being there. Booking again for more stays over the summer- with Woolacombe only being about 35mins away for a beach day if wanted, it was simply glorious to come back to the peace and tranquility of South Town Farm. Thank you so much Dani and Murray and see you again soon! 😊
