Maryport Holiday Park

The caravan park itself was absolutely beautiful. It was well-maintained, clean, and in a stunning location. The beach and the views were amazing, and it was a real pleasure to sit on the terrace and relax. I believe the gentleman who helped me was the park manager. He was very professional and kindly helped me when the key kept getting stuck in the door. I would definitely recommend the park itself. Unfortunately, the caravan (No. 61) was a huge disappointment. There were bugs on the beds, the caravan smelled of damp and had mould throughout, especially in the bedrooms. The dishes were dirty, and the floors in the bedroom and bathroom felt like they were sinking. The listing also advertised a hot tub. When we arrived, it wasn't switched on, so we couldn't use it on the first evening because it never got hot enough. The next morning I turned it on myself, and by the evening it had finally heated up. However, when I removed the cover, the water was dirty and there was something floating in it. It was absolutely disgusting. I would happily recommend the caravan park, but I cannot recommend Caravan No. 61. It is in very poor condition, dirty, and clearly not maintained to an acceptable standard.

First thing to be seen after driving down a muddy single track road is a rubbish dump to the right of the road. Assorted junk and old boats. A fire and smoke smelling of burning plastic adds to the effect. Next we drove past a wooden fence blowing over in the wind. Most of the central area of the site looks very well kept. Park up to take a look around, walk not too far and you will have a choice of dog siht to step into with the occasional dog barking from the caravan decking. Beautiful location by the beach. Stunning views. Needs some work!

I’ve been here tons of times. I’ve been staying at my uncles grandparents caravan and I can say that it’s probably the nicest place I’ve been, there is a nice beach (if you can get passed the seaweed) and lovely spots all over the place like port Logan and Patrick and especially the lighthouse. I’ve seen the bad reviews and I can say it’s nothing like that it’s not noisy and if your bored you can go for a walk or go to a park at Drummore. I’ve been paddle boarding here with my uncle and my brother even found a massive crab( sorry for the quality I don’t know how to import them) there used to be a rope swing but it broke and so far it has not been fixed and it’s over grown where it use to be.

It's a caravan site on the beach. Didn't notice any noise from the caravan site waste disposal facilities as mentioned by a previous reviewer. Theres lots of static caravans packed together on the plot and I hold my hands up I wouldn't normally choose to go on holiday in a place like this and at the same time I love it! Our friends have a caravan here and we have stayed here for a weeks break a few times since 2013. Their van has a view towards the lighthouse on the end of the peninsula and it makes a great base for exploring this area of outstanding natural beauty. Fortunately for us a plot came up with amazing views across the bay and we jumped at the chancr. It is such a peaceful place. The site has a helpful warden and walks along the coast in both directions. It benefits from being a long way from anywhere but theres a church, pub, cafe and a shop in Drummore a mile up the road.
