Hillside Havens

The cabin was perfect for a little getaway. The cabin was cosy but had everything we needed and the space was utilised so well. The outside area was so lovely and the site was well looked after. We took our pup with us and the garden was secure with fence, and there were lots of great walking spots nearby. Tracy and Andrew were lovely and so quick to respond to any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

Take note: this is a glamping (camping) accommodation. Rating for glamping: 3.5/5 Rating for regular vacation accommodation: 1/5 This is a series of 4 small, cramped wooden bunkers built at the back of someone’s estate. Each bunker comes with its own unique facility e.g., field with goalposts, hot tub, etc. The bunkers are tiny. It is cramped for 2 people. But you may have 4 people in it. The bunker is surprisingly complete though: there is a mini kitchenette, shower, breakfast table, sofa, tv. Internet works well. Floor is heated. Hot water can be very hot. There is a hair drier (abit too hot too quickly actually). The room is warm. The bunker is clean. The bed is too short if you are 6 feet tall. There is nowhere to put your luggage. We had to leave some in the car. Outside the bunker there is a metal cage you can use to start a fire. Some wood is included. Location is ok for the town / distilleries. Service is good from the host who dinner best to set up for us. If you are looking for abit of a camping adventure / tiny houses experience, this can be a fun choice. Otherwise, this is not for you.

WOW – What an incredible stay in the XL Escape Pod with Hot Tub! 💫🐾 We honestly loved every second of it! The hosts were so warm and welcoming — not just to us, but to our boy da Vinci 🐶💛. They made us all feel right at home and thought of every little detail. The pod itself was spotless, super cozy, and beautifully designed. And that hot tub under the stars? Absolute bliss ✨🍷 But the best part for us (and especially for da Vinci!) was how amazingly dog-friendly it was. The big secure garden was heaven for him — loads of space to run, play, and just be free 🐾💨. Love that you can even choose your fence height on the website — how thoughtful is that?! It’s so rare to find a place that’s this luxurious but still totally caters to dogs. Da Vinci was so relaxed and happy the whole time, which made our stay even more special 💕 Even after checkout, the hosts let us leave our car so we could take him for one last walk — those little touches mean so much 🥰 10/10 stay — stunning pod, amazing hosts, beautiful location, and the perfect dog-friendly escape. We’re already planning our next visit — pretty sure this is officially da Vinci’s new happy place! 🌿🐕💫

We had a lovely weekend staying here with our dog. The garden was totally secure and he had a great time running about! The pods are in an excellent location just a short walk into Dufftown or a short drive to explore all the nearby distillers. The owners were lovely and really went above and beyond. Highly recommend and we definitely would stay here again!
