No 7

No 7 is a two-bedroom cottage in a village within reach of the Solway coast. Everything is on the ground floor: a living and dining space with a 42-inch smart TV, two bedrooms (one kingsize, one single), and a shower room with a walk-in enclosure. The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, air fryer and washer-dryer, so you can cook properly or travel light. An electric woodburner warms the place. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. There is private parking for one car and access to shared gardens.

The location suits people who want to explore rather than stay put. A few minutes' drive reaches Mossyard and Carrick beaches. The Galloway Forest Park, home to Europe's first Dark Sky Park, is nearby, as are the 7Stanes mountain bike trails at Kirroughtree and Dalbeattie. Walkers have coastal paths and forest trails to choose from. Kirkcudbright, an artists' hub with a working harbour and historic high street, is a short drive away. The village itself has a measured pace; it once had its own port and thriving industries. No smoking inside the property.
