Monks Thatch Cottage

Monks Thatch Cottage works well for couples or a small family wanting to be near the coast without complication. The property sleeps four across two bedrooms—a super king-size and a twin—with one bathroom offering both bath and walk-in shower. Everything is on the ground floor, which suits those who prefer not to manage stairs; the dining room does require stepping up by two, but the living space is accessible. Bed linen, towels and wifi are provided as standard.

The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washer-dryer mean you can manage a week's cooking and laundry without fuss. An open fire in the dining room works for cooler months. Outside, there's a garden with patio and furniture for sitting out. A shared unheated swimming pool is available to guests during June through August. One dog is welcome; smoking is not.

Ladram Bay's cliffs stand half a mile away, and Budleigh Salterton's pebble beach and town centre are within reach. The Devon Heritage Coast Path runs through the area for walking, and Otterton village—home to a working mill—lies nearby. Private parking for one car is included.
