Woodland View Lodge sits on a working farm in the Blackdown Hills, where the landscape rolls between moorland and valley. The setting is rural and quiet, though Exeter and the East Devon coast are both within reach for a day out. The grounds include access to a stream with private fishing rights, and guests can explore the farm's fields and woodland on foot.

The lodge is a single-storey building that sleeps four. Inside: a bedroom with a kingsize bed, an ensuite shower room, a second shower room, and an open-plan living space with a sofa bed, Smart TV and kitchen. The kitchen is equipped for cooking from scratch—electric oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. Electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included, along with a welcome pack. A patio area opens onto the grounds, and there's a six-person hot tub for private use. Parking for one car is available on the property. No smoking indoors.

The farm's rural setting appeals to those who want peace and country air, though the lodge is accessible for those with mobility needs, being entirely on the ground floor with a walk-in shower. The nearby village of Topsham and the nursery Plants Galore are local amenities. Families, couples and small groups all find space here, with the sofa bed offering flexibility for children or an extra guest.

Woodland View Lodge is a really lovely care home. I come in regularly to run fitness classes, and it’s always such a nice place to visit. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they really care about the residents. The home is clean, comfortable, and has a calm, relaxed feel to it, which makes a big difference. Everyone is always so positive, and the residents really get involved in the sessions, which is great to see. I genuinely enjoy coming here and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a caring and supportive place for their loved ones.

My brother moved to this brand new care home approx 2 months ago. He moved because his original care home didn't meet the promises that they originally made & he was very depressed. Since moving to Woodland, his depression has lifted, he has put on weight & has settled in well, mainly due to the caring, friendly & helpful staff. The home is well situated, very comfortable & well staffed.

My partner and I went to the official opening of the home on the 9/10/2025. The ribbon was cut by my mother as she is resident number one and the Lord Mayor of Exeter. Prior to this she had her hair done and I was chatting to the hair dresser who told me for this home it is all inclusive where as other homes she works at the residents are invoiced. She also told me that her sister comes into the home every week and provides an inclusive pedicure service. The Lord Mayor was very complementary about the home and the staff and said she could feel the kindness of the staff and her first impressions were all positive. There was circa 50 residents/guests and the carers just took the event in their stride looking after everybody. A good number of carers came in on their days off to support the event which I thought was a real show of how the home is/has developed a great strong team which is getting stronger with every new day. I think I have now met all members of the team and without exception they are all great. I was impressed that amongst all the focus on opening the home they also held raffles and competitions to raise money for a helping aid dogs charity for forma service men/women who have mental health issues caused as a result of them serving in the forces. This just reinforces their focus on care. We were chatting with another resident who had moved from what my partner thought was a good home, however he moved because although the building was nice there was very poor standard of care and he told me that he was now getting excellent care and is so happy he has moved. I went before the opening and joined my mum for lunch, the food was very good and as I had been to my partner’s to drop my dog with him so she was not in the car too long and then back to the home I had used 50% of my electric car’s battery however this was not a problem as the home has 6 charging points and by the time I left my battery was at 90% which will last me till I get home and as the home has extensive solar arrays there was no charge. As a visit is circa 100 mile round trip this does help off set the cost of a visit.
