Holiday lodge and caravan site on the Flamborough coast with cliff-top walks and an indoor swimming pool.

About Thornwick Bay Holiday Village

Flamborough's dramatic Yorkshire coastline is lined with cliff-top paths and red-and-white striped lighthouse views, and Thornwick Bay Holiday Village sits right in the middle of it. The site offers caravans and lodges on the seafront at North Marine Road, with pitches and accommodation kept to a high standard. Showers are on site, and there is an indoor swimming pool just across the way.

The location means fish and chips and a mini market are a moment's walk away, and you are steps from the walking trails that run along the cliffs. Staff are known for being helpful, and the grounds are well maintained. This is the kind of place where the setting does the heavy lifting—you are here for the coast, the air, and the long walks, not for elaborate onsite entertainment, though the pool does offer a rainy-day option.

This was a lovely relaxing scenic holiday. We booked 4 nights however we only stayed 3 nights because we just had nothing left to do. It’s great for hiking around the cliffs and the beach is not far from the caravan site & is suitable for kids exploring but be careful to keep them away from the cliff edge as there are no barriers. When the tide is out you can explore the caves below the cliffs. FYI Flamborough Head beach abit further up you cannot access as the path is now closed which was disappointing because there are more caves down there which we wanted to explore. There are a few bunkers around the cliffs but they have been blocked off so you cannot go inside them. The Drinking Dinosour hiking area again you cannot go down and access the beach and cliffs below. We spent a few hours down in Bridlington town and it was very busy, the charity shops were not great and neither were any of the shops in general. They do a pirate ship boat ride for £6 which is great for kids and lasts 10 minutes. The arcade on site is only small, the swimming was really good and a long trim trail play area near the restaurant. Our son loved the electric boat on the lake, driving it around. We had Chopstix delivered to our caravan which was lovely filling food with flavour. We had not heard good reviews though about Cooks fish and chips on site so we didn’t bother and two people actually shouted into the door their food is rank (there is another fish and chip shop in Flamborough village centre which was very good, only 5 minute drive away) The caravan was clean and tidy however the bathroom door lock kept getting jammed into the wood so you couldn’t open it properly (we’ve found this with other Haven sites too).

We stayed for a short weekend break. We wanted something different to previous parks we have stayed on and Thornwick Bay did not disappoint. The cliff top walks with spectacular views, walking down the sides of the cliffs and exploring the caves and coves of the bay, the nature reserve and fishing lake for exploring, everything was just what we needed. This park is smaller and quieter then what we have previously stayed on and it was just what we needed. The park was clean and tidy. Such peaceful surroundings and stunning scenery no matter where you went. Obstacle style park and large green for football kept my children (17, 14 and 4) entertained and no-one wanted to go home. We booked a silver caravan which was clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend this if your looking for adventure and exploring aswell as peace and quiet from everyday life. We will definitely be returning later on in the year.

Wonderful place to come. Beautiful location, cabin was nice and clean. Was a decent size considering we booked the smallest and cheapest one. Very happy, will definitely be coming back in future. Only downside is that it was not clear before arriving that no essentials were provided. We didn’t realize that we would have to bring our own toilet roll. No hand soap in bathroom, no tea towels for washing up. Lacked a few basic things. Wouldn’t have been an issue if we were told this when booking. But not a major problem. There is a Nisa shop on site that sells everything. We bought everything we needed. Next time we will know to bring more items from home.

A TIDY AND SAFE SITE we are just back from a 4 night stay here. We stayed on a euro touring pitch wide road made it very easy to reverse on to pitch. Hook up is 20 m away so you will need a 20m water and electric hook up quite unusual for a euro pitch. You can hire 20m electric hook ups from the touring reception. Touring toilets through out the day are spotless but at night or early morning they can be a bit neglected. I feel the chemical waste could be upgraded as theres better systems out there. Site is well maintained and clean. The onsite resturant breakfast was absolutely disgusting a freezing cold breakfast wrap i cant express how bad the experience for there was. I would strongly advise everyone to fully avoid the onsite resturant and go somewhere else instead. I would also say that the on site shop is utterly useless if you need anything essential they just do over priced food items and very expensive toys. Swimming was a great experience pool quite warm the slide is great fun. changing rooms tidy! A wet swin costume dryer would be a great feature in the changing rooms other haven sites have these and they very handy
