About Alfriston Camping Park
Alfriston Camping Park sits on the edge of the pretty South Downs village of Alfriston, beside the River Cuckmere and within the South Downs National Park. It is a straightforward, tent-focused site that has long been popular with walkers on the South Downs Way and cyclists passing through, thanks to its flat, well-drained pitches and easy walk into the village for shops and pubs.
The park keeps facilities simple but well maintained, with modern shower and toilet blocks, a small on-site shop for essentials, and space for tents, camper vans and touring caravans across open grass fields. Its position makes it a good base for walking to Cuckmere Haven and the Seven Sisters, both a short walk or drive away, as well as for exploring Alfriston itself, with its fourteenth-century clergy house and village green.
Dogs are welcome on leads, and the site's proximity to the downland trails makes it a favourite for repeat visitors doing multi-day sections of the South Downs Way. Eastbourne is around 20 minutes away by car, making the park a quieter, more rural alternative to staying in town while still keeping the coast within easy reach.
