About Buchan Hotel
For anyone after a straightforward, unpretentious stopover rather than a grand hotel experience, Buchan Hotel fits the bill. Set on Bridge Street in Ellon, it's a small family-run operation with just six casual rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and free Wi-Fi. It suits travellers passing through Aberdeenshire, visiting family nearby, or those who simply want an easy, no-frills place to rest without paying for extras they won't use.
Rooms are kept simple, with drinks available in-room and family rooms and accessible rooms among the options. Guests get breakfast on-site, along with a relaxed restaurant and bar for evening meals and drinks. There's also a packed lunch option for those heading out for the day, plus a picnic area and outdoor seating for warmer weather. Practical extras include 24-hour reception, a lift, meeting rooms, and free on-site parking, making it workable for both business stopovers and family visits.

Hazelhead Park & Pets Corner offers a local outing, while Inverurie lies a short drive away for anyone wanting to explore further into Aberdeenshire.

I live in Ellon so have not stayed in the rooms, but regularly eat at the Buchan Restaurant. Their food is tasty, well prepared and has a good variety of Scottish dishes. The service is friendly and the setting is central in Ellon.

Beautiful family owned hotel serving typically traditional Scottish cuisine with warm welcome, good chat and perfectservice. Food is excellent and local banter just the perfect antidote to any world travelled cynicism. Cannot recommend highly enough.
