About Kentisbury Grange

Kentisbury Grange sits in mature grounds on the western edge of the national park, a few miles inland from Combe Martin and about twenty minutes from Barnstaple. The Victorian manor house holds the reception rooms and a handful of traditional bedrooms, while most guests stay in the contemporary garden suites arranged around the lawns, which are considerably more modern in feel than the exterior suggests.

Rooms are designed with some flair, with underfloor heating, walk-in showers or roll-top baths, coffee machines and doors opening onto private terraces. Several are dog friendly, and the layout suits couples wanting privacy rather than families needing connecting rooms.

The Coach House restaurant is the reason many people book, serving modern British cooking built on north Devon produce and open to non-residents for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The hotel has collected Devon Tourism Awards for both its restaurant and its accommodation. As a base it works best for the coastal north-west of Exmoor, with Woolacombe and Croyde beaches half an hour away, the Valley of Rocks and Lynton about the same, and the moorland interior around Simonsbath a scenic forty minutes across the top.

Second visit to Kentisbury Grange. Absolutely fantastic. We had a 2 bed lodge with kitche and hot tub on decking. My wife enjoyed watching the ducks swimming in the pond from our decking. We have 3 dogs who loved it. Decking is secure so dogs cannot escape. Nice gardens to walk the dogs. Service is great .. Abby in the restaurant made us feel welcome. The food is first class Mark the owner cannot do enough for you and has some great plans. About 20 mins from Woolacombe dog friendly beach. Local gardens which are dog friendly. We will be back .. as it’s very chilled, quiet and scenic.

What an incredible place this is, the grounds are magical, the service is amazing, the accommodation is really lovely and comfortable. I have read some of the negative reviews and struggle to understand anything negative about Kentisbury Grange or understand where the complainers find anything to complain about. I love hearing the wild birds and this place is a haven for them, such a diversity of trees and foliage over this huge site with ponds and lakes attracting water foul too, I even saw a great egret here. It is a family run boutique hotel with many other lodges and cottages nestled within the grounds. The friendly atmosphere is quite apparent as soon as I came into the grounds through the magnificant beautiful wooded driveway and booked in to reception where a friendly face was so helpful. I love it and would thoroughly recommend it to the discerning people who want a real treat

Lovely and peaceful, rooms are fantastic with fresh towels and service every day, hot tube was well maintained with immaculate water. Food was outstanding and plenty of choice at breakfast. Everyone was always helpful, owner took time every day to make sure everything was alright and always helpful with visiting places. This was our second stay as visited previously last year and stayed in the main hotel.
