What diners say
What a great find in Swanpool Falmouth. This place overlooks the sea and the beach and is a fantastic place for a drink, snack or dinner! We loved the happy hour, half price cocktails which were amazing. The restaurant has inside and outside seating with the outdoors on a first come basis. The food was also really good we had their seafood platter for two with lobster mussels, clams, and prawns. It comes with two doorstops of their own bread to mop up the juices, delicious. Underpinning all the great food and drinks is the atmosphere and the fantastic service. The restaurant manager is so lovely and friendly, happy to chat with us and introduced us to her sister who was also working there both of them so lovely. That's not to say the other staff weren't also great, thanks for a great couple of sessions. One night they were fully booked but the younger sister said "my sister will try and fit you in if you can't find anywhere else" above and beyond! In tbe end she recommended their sister restaurant Harbour House which is another review to look out for. Thank you Beach House, we'll be back.

The food was above average. We enjoyed the beach view. However, there are some issues I need to highlight. When me and my lady wanted to order food, the waitress asked me to order from another waitress since she is not our allocated waitress. Customers should be able to order from any waiter or waitress working in the restaurant. When another waitress came, she only took order for drinks. She said the kitchen is busy and we would have to wait to order our food another time. Again, I have never experienced this before. You should just take the order when customers want to order food. During that time, the restaurant was not even half full. For the bill, most restaurants in UK would charge 10 percent for service fees while they charge 12.5 percent service fees when the service isnt great. In the end, we wanted to carry away the water bottle we ordered since it is 4.5 pounds and still plenty left. They said we are allowed to take away water bottle but when I asked where is the lid that waitress said they threw away already. How am I supposed to carry away a water bottle without a lid? Most waitresses working there are students and I feel like they have no experience or guidance for serving customers at all. I dont think I will go back there again.

I booked The Beach house after doing research with many sources depicting this restaurant one of the top fresh fish restaurants in the Southwest. After booking I was then worried at seeing all the recent negative reviews. I kept the reservation and am so glad I did. Was it pricy? Yes - but you expect that going in. You’re not buying fish and chips, you’re buying freshly caught - never frozen- fish. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when choosing our meals and reservations online. Okay the fantastic food. We had a scallop each to start. Stunning. Best scallop ever, we had to order another each. Massive with a nutty dressing. We then shared the white wine muscles. Simple but again, amazing. Better than any I’ve had in France. The sauce was swiftly soaked up with the delicate rosemary focaccia. The wife ordered the crab linguine which was FULL of crab. I ordered the special, a £25 Mackerel that was tempura fried to perfection, allowing the fish to do all the talking. Accompanied by a charred lemon and the most perfectly paired herbs. I believe it was chives, mint, parsley with the sweetness of the charred lemon completely elevated the dish. Honestly the best fish dish I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten a lot of fresh fish with bigger portions but this topped them all. For dessert we each had an affogato and shared the rosemary, lemon and white chocolate baked cookie dough. Great flavours the followed on nicely from a fishy meal. Great ambiance, looking over the beachfront, cheeks rosy from the brilliance of the food.

Delicious seafood all round. However the starters we shared were the highlight. Don’t miss out on the foccacia to mop up the sauce from the prawns! Not a fan of Loveday gin though so please stock another brand behind your bar as well. Thankyou

Diners like this restaurant's delicious seafood, especially the fresh scallops, mussels, and lobster, and appreciate the stunning sea views. They also highlight the friendly and attentive staff, as well as the relaxed atmosphere.
Some reviews mention the food can be overpriced.
