Chris & Julie are very friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. Spotlessly clean accommodation. Lovely room. Slept really well. Breakfast was great, set us up for our days out exploring Bempton Cliffs, York etc. will definitely be returning as soon as we can.

I stayed one night this week with my friend, I rang a few days before and spoke to Chris about availability. I wanted a twin room with en suite. A lot of places advertise twin rooms but they don’t have 2 single beds, it’s usually double bed and sofa bed. Chris was extremely helpful, the twin room they have was already booked for the date we required. He suggested that we could have their largest room which sleeps 5, this has a double bed, single bed and double sofa bed. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Chris and Julie and shown the ground floor room (suite). It was immaculately clean and comfortable, we weren’t expecting such luxury. Chris and Julie are excellent hosts, generous and helpful, gave suggestions for evening meals. The breakfast was delicious and you were given options for cooked breakfast on arrival so there was no waiting the next morning. I cannot recommend this place enough and we both wished that we could have stayed longer. I want to give it 10 stars 🤩

Only 4 stars, this place is very good, few little issues but for a single night's stay it was very good,, small issues being, sockets behind drawers, awkward to get to, front doors, bit awkward to manoeuvre whilst, could do with intercom and automatic lock , save you running up and down the stairs, bit of noise from floor above, breakfast choices would've been better once in room, when you've settled in, all that said, we might be back,

Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Southgate Bed and Breakfast Hunmanby and did we get lucky. The hosts Julie and Chris were delightful, very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. The hotel is immaculate inside and out. The rooms are spotlessly clean with lovely bedding and towels. Breakfast was delicious, good produce beautifully cooked. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
