Firle has no hotels of its own, but its setting beneath the South Downs makes it an ideal base for exploring on foot, with a small choice of characterful rooms right in the village and a wider spread of options only a short drive away. The Ram Inn offers bed and breakfast in a handful of individually decorated rooms above one of Sussex's oldest pubs, giving a genuinely local stay within walking distance of Firle Place and the South Downs Way. For more choice, Lewes is only about six miles off and has everything from boutique townhouse hotels to budget guesthouses, all with easy access back out to Firle and the surrounding villages of Glynde and Alfriston. The coastal towns of Seaford and Eastbourne, both around a fifteen-minute drive, add seaside hotels and larger chain options, useful if travelling with a group or wanting sea views alongside downland walks. Wherever you base yourself, Firle works well as a day-trip hub thanks to its position just off the A27, so it is entirely possible to stay somewhere with more facilities and still spend mornings exploring Firle Place, Charleston Farmhouse and Firle Beacon. Booking ahead is worth it in summer, particularly around Firle Place's open days and any village events, when the limited local rooms fill quickly.
