Caravan park in Talybont with beach access, indoor pool, and seafront views of sea and mountains.
About Sunnysands Holiday Park
Talybont's seafront strip caters mainly to static caravans, but Sunnysands Holiday Park takes touring caravans too. The setting is the draw: guests consistently mention the beach access and views across the water to the mountains beyond. The site has an indoor pool, a kids' area, entertainment, showers, and an arcade and chip shop on or very near the grounds. Staff are reported to be welcoming and the pool is kept clean.
Expect to pay a premium for the location and facilities. The park suits families wanting a seaside base with structured activity rather than a quiet retreat, and those without their own entertainment setup will find enough on hand to keep occupied.

What visitors say
Don't recommend! The facilities are extremely poor! Smash and Dash & Cream and Cone closed ALL WEEK!! At first we were told this was because the staff were catering an event, which is ridiculous during peak season on a family holiday park?? Then the excuses changed to there not being enough staff to open anything but the chippy! I can understand 1 member being taken ill but that shouldn't stop everything. The shop had no milk, bread or cereal and it's very overpriced. The swimming pool changing rooms are filthy and they stink! The entertainment is naff and exactly the same every night. On the whole, I'd suggest the Away holiday park just down the road or completely different area! 👎👎 So disappointed. Neither family we are here with will be coming again.

This was a lovely discovery. It's right by the beach with hills on the other side, we had a caravan that looked over the marsh onto the hills and it was just stunning being able to look over the view every day. It's a bird needs dream!. The caravan was spotless, we were really pleased with it. It easily accommodated a family of 5 with teenage kids. We rented a gold 3 bed. There are plenty of activities for all budgets around if you want to venture off the site. Or you can just chill, there's a little shop, pool, clubhouse and arcade there. We booked for next year while we were there.

I wouldnt even give this place 1 star. Nothing is open!! Staff are rude, espically the young man in sales selling the vans! I think all staff need customer service training. When we arrived staff were rude to us, left my 2 year old waiting in 30c heat not able to purchase a drink as no where was open. We had a call to say the pool was also closed when we arrived. My 2 year old was on the bouncy castle and people were swearing so loudly on the site also. The whole place needs knocking down and rebuilding. We didnt even get to stay in our van we were that disgusted with the place. They agreed a refund but trying to obtain that has taken nearly 2 months ongoing! Dont be fooled my them saying things are open when they are open! We had a drive all the way back home same day as we were very disapointed and wont be returning!!

Overall we've just had a really nice stay at this holiday park! Our only niggles are these; the play park has seen better days - the stairs up to the slide were all loose and wobbly. Whilst my son was playing, the sales rep did actually come out and let us know that the whole play park is being replaced in 2027 with something much bigger and better - so at least they know it needs improving! The caravan was very clean (we'd seen reviews about cleanliness and was worried about this as I'm a holiday home cleaner myself) but a couple of the wall joinings in the main bedroom had come loose and been selotaped back on. Again not an issue as a whole, just 'unsightly' I suppose! The only food place open all weekend was the chippy. We brought meals with us but ended up eating in Barmouth centre a couple of times just to change it up. A medium chips was £3.75 which I think is average for a seaside resort. We loved; The entertainment for the kids was for about an hour each night, my son absolutely loved the people dressed up as animals (pictured) and all of the entertainment staff were lovely and very good with all the children. The prizes for games were actually decent, Minecraft swords and Cocomelon teddies, not just a lollipop or bag of sweets! There was only 4 adults playing bingo on the Friday night (2 of them being us) and the prize was a £20 bar voucher, then the next night there was about 15 adults playing and it was £100 cash prize, so again I think that's pretty good. The swimming pool and changing rooms were super super clean - swimming slots for families are 10-4 and 45 minute slots .eg. 10-10:45 then 11-11:45 and so on. There's also a steam room and sauna there which my husband was pleasantly surprised with! A lot of people were moaning about prices of pints etc but a Guiness was £5.75 and a draught Pepsi was £2.95 so again not extortionate but not cheap, what else would you expect from a seaside holiday resort!
