The School Room
Forest of Dean
The Forest of Dean and the border country beyond hold some of England's most rewarding walking territory, and a converted schoolhouse in Dymock makes a practical base for exploring both. A country pub sits within reach on foot, and the property itself—built in 1825 and listed—has enough character to reward staying put too: oak beams thread through the rooms, an arched window dominates the living space, and a woodburner provides actual warmth on cooler nights.
The School Room sleeps four across two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Downstairs, an emperor bed takes the master suite, which opens onto a full ensuite; a spiral staircase climbs to the galleried double on the first floor. The kitchen is equipped to cook proper meals rather than reheat, and there's a separate shower room on the ground floor. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; fuel for the woodburner comes with the booking from October to March.
The property does not accept children. There is parking for one car on site. A welcome pack waits on arrival.
