0 handpicked places to stay
Freckleton is not a hotel destination in its own right, but its location between Preston, Lytham St Annes and the wider Fylde coast means a good range of places to stay is never far away. Lytham St Annes, a few miles along the coast road, offers seafront hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs with easy access to its promenade, gardens and beach, while Preston, just six miles inland, has a broader mix of chain hotels, budget stays and business-oriented accommodation close to the mainline railway station and motorway network. Staying in either gives quick access back to Freckleton and its estuary walks, as well as to Kirkham and the rest of the Fylde peninsula.
For visitors who want to be closer to the village itself, self-catering cottages and rural guesthouses can be found scattered through the surrounding countryside, offering a quieter alternative to the coastal towns. Wherever you base yourself, Freckleton works well as a half-day or day trip rather than a multi-night stay, easily combined with time in Lytham, Preston or further up the coast towards Blackpool and Fleetwood. Booking ahead is advisable in summer, when the Fylde coast draws its heaviest visitor numbers, but Freckleton itself, away from the main tourist strip, rarely feels crowded even in peak season.
