Hotel choice right in Frogham itself is very limited, since this is a small hamlet rather than a town, but it makes an excellent base if you are happy to stay a little further afield and drive in for walks on the heath. Fordingbridge, about two miles away, has a small selection of pubs with rooms and guest houses, along with easy access to its own shops, cafes and the River Avon. Ringwood, a little further south, offers a wider range of hotels and inns, along with good road links back into the forest and on towards Bournemouth and the coast.
Wherever you stay, the appeal of this part of the New Forest is the same: open heathland on the doorstep, quiet lanes for walking and riding, and the everyday sight of ponies, cattle and donkeys grazing freely across the commons. Rooms with a view over the heath towards Hampton Ridge are a particular draw, and many local inns lean into their forest setting with log fires, dog-friendly bars and menus built around local game and produce. Booking ahead is sensible during the summer months and around Frogham Fair in late July, when accommodation across this corner of the forest fills up quickly. Outside peak season, this is a peaceful part of Hampshire, well suited to a quiet break built around walking, riding or simply sitting somewhere with a view.
