About King's Head
The King's Head is the centre of gravity in Llangennith, a seventeenth-century inn opposite the church in the village at the north-western corner of the peninsula. It is about a mile from the beach at Hillend, where the three-mile sweep of Rhossili Bay begins and where most of Gower's surf schools operate, and the bar reflects that: a mix of surfers, walkers, farmers and families rather than a hushed hotel lounge.
Rooms are graded four star and split between standard and deluxe, arranged across converted farm buildings around the inn. All are en suite with underfloor heating, flat-screen televisions and tea and coffee facilities, and a full cooked breakfast is included, served between half past eight and half past ten. The place has picked up community and hospitality awards and is run with obvious local commitment.
The kitchen does honest, generous pub food and the bar carries a good range of Welsh cask ales. Practically, this is as far west as you can comfortably base yourself: Rhossili village and the Worm's Head causeway are a short drive, Llanmadoc and Whiteford Burrows are ten minutes north, and the lanes in are narrow enough that you will want to arrive in daylight the first time.

Had a lovely lunch here on a Sunday in July. Sirloin steak and scampi was cooked very nicely and without delay. Staff were lovely friendly and chatty. We had a great relaxing time with a great view of the surrounding church and distant hills. A spectacular location. Worth checking with them whether the Sunday lunch roasts are on the menu, as when it's very hot as it has been recently they had to stop doing them as there was less demand and some food was going to waste. Can't wait to visit again

Absolutely fantastic! This is a wonderful country pub with an amazing atmosphere. The food was outstanding, and the live music in the evenings made our stay even more special. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean, and every member of staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had—absolutely delicious with plenty of choice. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back!

would recommend. really enjoyed food and evening. went on a Thursday evening, with dog. food was better than standard pub fare. my keema curry was spicy and we had extra poppadoms as a starter. Salmon was delicious. staff were friendly and very attentive. only sad that we were on the Gower for 2 nights and this was our second night so couldn’t go again. Next time tho…

Truly loved my stay at the Kings Head. The whole area is absolutely stunning, so wonderful for walking, winding down and contemplating. The bar staff made me feel very welcome as a solo female guest (won’t ever forget the Guinness!) and the ladies at breakfast were particularly brilliant.
