What visitors say
Wonderful camp site, toilets and bin areas clean, just what it said on the tin. Quiet too, despite being a busy bank holiday weekend. Will definitely be back

Last minute campsite booked Be careful as will sometimes suggest on website - LAST FEW PLACES REMAINING’ although there is a full empty field. So don’t rush into booking. Great views towards bottom. Owner came around often to drive around and collect cash Very basic on site. Port-a-loo’s, although they were very clean. Noisy throughout night with others, although not campsite fault. Just be mindful of other campers / people arriving late / early etc. would return

It was overall good, excellent views and very close to the promenade and a short walk to the town centre. However the toilets where absolutely disgusting, toilet roll low or empty in some cubicles and not to mention the smell, I've had cleaner wees in bushes. The noise after 10pm was also really loud, the owner came on the land after 10 and said nothing to the noise culprits, also the police turned up to deal with another guest, I get that it's a Bank Holiday weekend but surely there should be limits to people blasting music til gone midnight on a campsite? Overall the owner was friendly, the grounds where presentable (not very flat) the location was excellent and atleast there was some toilets even if they did stink, it's also dog friendly with good walks everywhere. I think I'd stay here again on a none bank holiday just simply because the location was so perfect and I'm sure the toilets would be better if it was less busy.

Basic wild camping in a field. There were a couple of portaloos and a bin. Views are spectacular over Morecambe Bay. However, the price you pay is the very steep incline. We have very big ramps for our van, but we struggled to find a spot where we could level up. Initial booking via pitch up. We didn't however realise that the field was only open weekends because we hadn't tried to book in the week. There were no signs to indicate it was closed and the gate remained open with the camping symbol and an arrow pointing into the field and a sign saying'cash only' at the entrance. Several people in both tents and motorhomes came and pitched up then left midmorning with no-one coming to take any money. We weren't in any hurry so stayed a bit longer as the weather was good. We were a bit surprised when the portaloos were taken away, but it wasn't till later when the owner came that we found the site was closed. No hesitation in taking a full fee from us, simply for parking in a field with no facilities. I wish had left earlier too. I would have been happy with a reduced fee, but this lady was scary so I didn't argue it further!
