Capel Neigwl

Photo: Capel Neigwl

A former chapel converted into holiday accommodation for ten people, Capel Neigwl stands near Botwnnog in rural Gwynedd. The building's original character remains—vaulted ceilings, period features—but the interior has been modernised with central heating, hot water and full kitchen facilities. One dog is welcome at no extra charge.

The ground floor holds three bedrooms: two with kingsize beds and one with a zip-and-link super kingsize (convertible to two singles) plus an additional single. A family bathroom serves this level. Climb to the first floor and the living spaces open out—lounge, dining area and kitchen in one generous room with a wood-burning stove, large windows framing the countryside, and French doors to a balcony. An ensuite bedroom and separate toilet are also here. The top floor has a fifth bedroom with a three-quarter double bed. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included; the kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and wine cooler for self-catering meals.

Outside, a private hot tub accommodates six people. The front garden has seating and a barbecue; parking for four cars is provided. Abersoch's beaches lie nearby for coastal days out. No smoking inside.

We loved our visit at Capel Neigwl! Visited as a group of 10 school friends catching up, and had a fabulous weekend! Big fully equipped kitchen and living area with room for everyone to sit around the table and gather in front of the cosy log burner to catch up. Comfortable beds and had all we needed for a great stay! Hot tub was a luxury after a nice walk to The Sun Inn for lunch (great pub food!)! Would highly recommend, great house and fabulous hosts!
