Tillman is an early 1900s inn on the Gwynedd coast, recently updated and sleeping up to eight across five bedrooms and three bathrooms. The layout spreads across three floors: ground level holds two living rooms (both with Smart TVs), a kitchen/dining space, and utility facilities; the first floor has two bedrooms with ensuite and main bathroom; the top floor contains three further bedrooms and a shower room. Each room has heating and the essentials—bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity—are covered.
The property works well for families or small groups wanting a complete retreat to themselves. Two separate living areas mean people can gather together or retreat for quiet time, while the kitchen allows you to cook properly or simply heat something up. Behind the building is an enclosed garden with patio seating. There's a pub within a mile, and Barmouth's beach and town centre are very close by; the Weigh Out landmark is nearby. No smoking inside.

Never left a review for a hotel before but feel compelled to make a special shout out for The Tilman. The moment we walked through the door we were greeted by friendly staff who genuinely seem to enjoy working there. Really nice vibe with chill atmosphere in the main bar/restaurant. We very cheekily asked if a room was available with a view of the beach and they were more than happy to oblige as they had a spare. I’m sure we should have paid more for it but we weren’t charged any more which was a bonus. A great touch was an ice bucket with a couple of glasses and a bottle of Prosecco as they knew it was our wedding anniversary. I don’t mean to belittle or demean any of the staff as they were all super friendly and nice folks but a special shout out to Bailey (Bayley, Bayleigh?) for her warm hospitable service. The included breakfast was absolute to die for, not mediocre greasy spoon crap. They don’t have a varied menu for the afternoon/evening but that’s because they specialise with “smash burgers” which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back!

Not the first time we have stopped at the Tillman. However this time we booked a superior room,7 although slightly more expensive it was well worth the extra cost. We had one small issue with the room but the 'outstanding' way it was dealt with demonstrated exceptional customer care. Room was immaculate. And the inclusive breakfasts represented both a good choice and quality. Complementary parking was an added bonus. Thank you to everyone.

We came here for our tea tonight, I had the Tilman Cheeseburger with garlic fries and my bf had the BBQ Pulled Pork Burger with seasoned fries. 10/10, the burgers were sooooo good! Staff were friendly, vibe was nice inside and the service was really quick! Would definitely recommend and will be coming here again!
