Woodlands Caravan Park
Gwynedd
A small touring park at the foot of Harlech Castle itself
About Woodlands Caravan Park
Woodlands is a small, friendly caravan park set directly beneath Harlech Castle, close enough that several pitches look straight up at the castle rock. It takes touring caravans on level, easily accessible pitches with a 10-amp electric hookup, alongside a number of static caravans and a two-bedroom holiday cottage for those wanting a fixed base rather than towing their own van.
A newly built heated amenity block provides toilets, washbasins, showers, dishwashing facilities and a small launderette, and the whole site is flat and straightforward to manoeuvre on. Its position right at the castle end of town means the beach is a fifteen-to-twenty-minute walk away across level ground, and Harlech's shops, cafes and pubs, along with the local swimming pool and Theatr Ardudwy arts centre, are all within easy walking distance.
Woodlands is aimed at touring caravans rather than tents, and its small scale and in-town location make it better suited to a short, convenient stay than a long back-to-nature camping trip, but for anyone wanting to walk to the castle gates rather than drive there, it is hard to beat for position.
