Harlech High Street, near the castle · Guest House

A licensed Victorian guest house on Harlech High Street, run by the same family for years and popular with golfers and walkers.

About Byrdir House

Byrdir House is a large Victorian sea captain's house on Harlech High Street, in the heart of the town's conservation area and around 350 yards from the castle. Run by Adam and Tracy Hammond, the licensed guesthouse has built up more than a century of history welcoming visitors to the town, and today offers a mix of en-suite and standard rooms with flat-screen televisions and USB charging points.

A full Welsh breakfast is served each morning using local produce, with vegetarian, gluten-free and halal options available on request, and the house has its own small bar for residents. Free on-site parking for up to ten cars is a genuine advantage in a town where parking can otherwise be difficult to find.

Byrdir House is particularly popular with golfers using Royal St David's, which is a ten-minute walk away, and with walkers heading into the Rhinogydd or along the coast path, thanks to its central position and straightforward, unfussy comfort.
