What visitors say
Wow, what a gem of a campsite. Tucked away up above Hardraw and Hawes its a lovely small site with a mix of statics, seasonals and tourers/tents. Really well maintained site with a small toilet and shower block, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Its 50p for the shower but its nice and hot and stays on for plenty if time for showering and hair washing. And the shower rooms are heated which im sure is welcomed when were not having a heat wave. Very friendly and helpful warden s. Easy booking by email through the owner and good value. Its a few minutes walk from Simonestone hall hotel, which does say is open to none residents and about 20 min walk ( its just under a mile) to the pub and cafe at Hardraw, but that is all up or downhill, lovely walk though with gorgeous views. It takes about an hour to walk to Hawes, and again its a lovely walk. The site is along side Shaw Ghyll woods and the beck runs through the campsite and then forms a lovely stretch of waterfalls and pools. Its absolutely Magical. We didnt spot the red squirrels this time so we will have to return soon. Perfect

What an amazing find and a hidden gem. The hosts John and Susan have been so helpful and friendly. Nothing was a problem for them. The site facilities were immaculately clean. The people on site were also warm and welcoming. We saw the red squirrels on site a few times and we enjoyed watching the various birds and wildlife around. The site has a wonderful relaxing feeling about it. The scenery around the site is absolutely beautiful. There are many scenic walks. We cycled around the area too. It is possible to walk into Hawes, which has a few pubs and places to eat. We will definitely return. We would highly recommend it.

We took our children to this campsite and had such a lovely stay in the static caravan, perfect for families. Everything was spotless and really well looked after, with a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. The location was perfect too - close enough to explore the wonders of the dales and a stunning river side walk with lots of waterfalls. We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended.

Lovely campsite, peaceful location, quiet and with spotless facilities. Friendly and helpful warden, we would stay again. Great bonus seeing red squirrels right next to the washing up area.
